BetHog, a cryptocurrency-focused casino and sportsbook platform created by the team behind FanDuel, has secured $10 million in Series A capital. Alongside the funding announcement, the company unveiled Sentient Studios, a business-to-business platform that enables online casino operators to integrate AI-driven live dealers into their gaming portfolios.
The financing round was jointly led by Will Ventures and RockawayX, with additional backing from PCV, 6MV, Bullpen Capital, and Advancit Capital.
Since its establishment in 2024, BetHog has now accumulated $16 million in total funding across all rounds.
According to CEO and co-founder Nigel Eccles, the company conducted extensive testing of its AI dealer technology throughout the previous six months with encouraging outcomes. The data reveals that the AI dealer format generates “10X more popularity than its live dealer equivalent” while simultaneously improving player retention and overall satisfaction metrics.
Understanding the Sentient Studios Platform
Sentient Studios aims to provide casino operators with enhanced flexibility in managing their live dealer game offerings. The conventional approach typically requires operators to partner with external studio providers for human dealers, creating constraints around table capacity, language localization, and customization options.
The new platform addresses these limitations by enabling operators to adjust table availability dynamically and offer support across numerous languages. Operators gain the ability to customize dealer personalities and interactions in real time without the overhead of maintaining physical studios or managing dealer staff.
The business model centers on pure revenue sharing. Without setup charges or binding contracts, operators face minimal financial risk when testing the technology.
Eccles suggested that AI dealers could eliminate intimidation factors some players experience with human dealers. Player feedback indicates the AI format feels “more welcoming and less intimidating” compared to traditional offerings.
He highlighted systemic challenges within the existing human dealer infrastructure as contributing factors. According to Eccles, the industry typically employs live dealers at minimum wage rates, requires them to work overnight shifts, and often assigns them to conduct games in languages they haven’t mastered.
Eccles noted that dealers frequently face financial penalties for errors while receiving no incentives to create entertaining streams. Turnover rates are extremely high, with average employment duration typically spanning just a few months.
“The result is that 95%+ of streams are dull with dealers speaking robotically and often incoherently,” Eccles said. “In this scenario, AI can actually deliver a more human experience than humans.”
Investment Partners and Future Roadmap
Will Ventures specializes in investments across sports, entertainment, and consumer sectors. RockawayX operates as a digital asset investment firm overseeing more than $2 billion in assets across venture capital, credit facilities, and infrastructure investments.
BetHog’s inaugural AI dealer, a blackjack host called Sunny, went live in October 2025. Sunny now operates in 12 different languages and has emerged as one of the platform’s most frequently played game options.
The company outlined plans to introduce AI dealers for baccarat and roulette before the current year concludes. BetHog’s platform currently supports deposits in 10 different cryptocurrencies and provides gaming experiences in 14 languages.
BetHog indicated that Series A proceeds will fund continued development of its AI dealer technology and drive adoption among international casino operators. While Sentient Studios currently operates exclusively on BetHog’s proprietary platform, Eccles confirmed to media that the company has initiated conversations with external operators about integration opportunities.
