Crypto-focused casino and sportsbook operator BetHog has successfully raised $10 million through a Series A investment round. Alongside the funding announcement, the company unveiled Sentient Studios, a business-to-business solution that enables online casino platforms to deploy AI-generated dealers.
The investment was jointly led by Will Ventures and RockawayX. Additional participants included PCV, 6MV, Bullpen Capital, and Advancit Capital.
This financing brings BetHog’s cumulative capital raised to $16 million since its establishment in early 2024. The venture was launched by former FanDuel executives.
In a Wednesday announcement, the company outlined plans to allocate the fresh capital toward enhancing its proprietary AI dealer infrastructure. Funds will simultaneously support the global commercial deployment of Sentient Studios across partner operators.
Disrupting Traditional Live Casino Infrastructure
Sentient Studios presents itself as a replacement for conventional live dealer operations, which typically require third-party studio partnerships and human staff—a model that presents significant cost barriers and scalability constraints.
The platform utilizes a revenue-sharing framework exclusively, eliminating upfront expenses for participating operators.
By removing the requirement for physical studio facilities and human personnel, casino platforms can dynamically adjust table availability according to player demand. The system allows for customized dealer characteristics, branded gaming environments, and continuous 24/7 operation.
Integrated multi-language functionality expands market reach for operators targeting diverse geographical regions.
The technology foundation stems from BetHog’s existing AI dealer solution, Sunny, which went live in October 2025 and currently functions across 12 language options.
Expansion plans include introducing AI dealers for additional table games before the close of 2026.
Nigel Eccles, CEO and co-founder, stated the company conducted six months of testing before launching publicly. According to Eccles, Sunny generates engagement levels ten times higher than traditional human dealer alternatives.
“We’ve also observed improvements in both player retention rates and overall satisfaction scores,” Eccles noted.
Navigating Compliance and Acceptance Barriers
Despite promising early performance data, AI-powered dealers must overcome substantial hurdles. The live casino sector has historically centered around physical infrastructure and human dealers.
A significant portion of players view human croupiers and tangible equipment as fundamental to ensuring fairness and legitimacy. Shifting player preferences toward AI-generated alternatives represents a gradual process.
Numerous regulatory jurisdictions enforce rigorous oversight requirements for live casino products. Operators must demonstrate to licensing authorities that synthetic dealers satisfy established standards for game fairness, data security, and operational transparency.
Industry analysts have additionally highlighted potential complications regarding intellectual property rights and copyright considerations associated with AI-generated dealer technology. Operators must resolve these legal questions during market entry.
RockawayX, serving as a co-lead investor, specializes in digital asset investments. This strategic partnership positions BetHog favorably for expansion within crypto-native and Web3 player demographics.
According to the company, Sentient Studios is currently available for operator integration through its revenue-sharing model, with expanded game offerings expected to launch throughout 2026.
